Our work rescuing and rehabilitating women and girls (and their children) from the red-light districts is comprehensive and includes residential care for up to 24 months. Currently, a total of 41 beneficiaries are living in our Mumbai and Kolkata safehouses.
We have 445 in Udaan, our child development program in the heart of slum communities in Govandi and Bhiwandi, India. Our work continues to grow and we are excited at the opportunities we have in 2025 to make a bigger difference.
Many of you are partnering with us on this important mission for which we are so grateful.
A PHENOMENAL START TO THE NEW YEAR
Introducing Pihu, Madhu, Siddhi, Chandni, Chinmayi, Gunita, Anokhi, and Kriti
Since the last time we featured the girls in our care, eight new girls have joined us on the journey to freedom. Each of them has a horrific story of being trafficked when they were young. The torture and abuse these precious lives have suffered for years is hard to comprehend. Though most of them were sex trafficked, one of them was sold as a nine-year-old for organ trafficking by her parents.
These young girls have known only pain and betrayal. But now that they are in our residential care program, they will experience a newness of life and freedom, and have an opportunity to heal, receive employable life skills, and reenter society.
We are grateful to our partners like you for helping them rewrite their stories.
